I shall be grateful if someone could provide some advice on how I may create a satin finish using Draw and/or Photo Paint X5. What I have in mind can be created with Photoshop (http://www.pixeladdiction.com/bb/articles.php?action=viewarticle&artid=21&page=2) as well as Illustrator (http://vector.tutsplus.com/tutorials/create-a-smooth-satin-background-using-blends/).
I have tried to do the same using Draw and Photo Paint but the gradient fill tool in Corel does not seem to behave in the same manner as Photoshop's gradient fill.
Thank you.

Here you are...
Hey Jeff!
Thanks a lot! I'll have to carefully go through the steps you have shown. Great. Just great.
Hi JF,
Jeff's technique is the best to give full control over the effect (i.e. you can create your own folds and creases, etc). If you want a very quick effect with virtually no control then you could try Edit>Fill and Choose the Texture Fill option. Under "Samples" you will find Curtains. That gives a satin curtain type finish. Keep on hitting the Preview button before applying the fill to get variations of the effect. There are some values you can change and you can change the colours to anything you like.
Best regards,Brian.

Maybe because of the gold colour you have used, your image looks like a really luxurious satin sheet; very inviting indeed. All you need to do now is conjure up a beautiful lady and you will be all set to go Best regards,Brian.
