I recently was experiencing Alllll sorts of issues with Corel Draw x5 at work. I called in an outside tech support company to take a look at the issue after I had done my best to Uninstall, Reinstall, and Update to try and fix my problems. Turns out he found that the temp folder that Corel was using had 20 Gb of worthless data stored away.
So to anyone having massive unexplainable issues or anyone who's corel is just running slowly, try emptying your temp folder.
Just go to run in the windows menu and enter: %temp%
then delete what is likely THOUSANDS of useless files from that folder.
I think this is an issue that people only have when using Corel day in and day out all day long since the folder most likely isn't being automatically emptied frequently enough.
Give this a whirl and let me know if this helps anyone.
A lot of us have been using this technique for quite awhile, but it is nice to see someone come along and verify that this IS a very important step to optimizing memory. I do this method everyday before shutting my system down at work and at home.
I run a batch file once a week that uses the Windows Clean Manager to clean out all that crap.
The batch file is just one line:
c:\windows\system32\cleanmgr.exe /dc /sagerun: 1
and I assign it to a task in Task Scheduler to run once a week.

Actually the temp folder is not only used by CorelDRAW Graphics Suite but also your by OS and other applications.
It's an old problem of Windows, because "yçtemp" files must be deletes automatically, but sometimes those files are not deleted. Some programs such as CCleaner can help you to clean up. btw this is not a CorelDRAW problem, although too much cause problems to most programs, including CorelDRAW
