Working with Corel draw x3, there is no feature like nesting. Who added a nesting feature and is satisfied. If one, which software was it and where can it be downloaded from?

Powerclipping may do what you like.

Or, perhaps Grouping is what you seek..

see attached for samples of both

There is no nesting in Draw, I have requested it several times in wishlists, but nothing. Maybe it's time to request it again. You need a RIP software to do nesting and they are usually very expensive. Usually I do my own nesting by hand.

Just curious. What is "nesting"?

Nesting is combining images together when outputting to print and/or cut to use up as little material as possible! Rather than printing each image as it own you can nest them on to you material size to utilize as much as the material as possible with less waste!

That would have been useful for me a couple of years ago. Now what I need is my separations to come out nested, like AccuRIP does, but it costs too much money for me. I think I'm gonna write a nesting macro for my seps.

CorelDRAW is not a program for automatic nesting.

You can use a program such as ArtPro

hi Ariel,

I nest manually, it's not so hard IMO...

Here are 3 ideas for existing solutions that work inside CorelDRAW (but I have not tried any):

Hi, Jeff, of course I also do manual nesting, as you. But what I said is that CorelDRAW have not a specific feature for nesting. You can't do a nesting in the same way that you make an imposition or other features.

For example, if you are drawing a box and use a nesting program, the software find the best position and place the content inside the crop box (something similar to a powerclip). You can do the same manually, but CorelDRAW have not a feature for do it automatically. But most nesting programs are too expensive (look at http://www.prepressforums.com/forum/artwork-systems/2374-artpro-cost.html )

Of course, if you will have a manual nesting, the best option is CorelDRAW Big Smile
