My Visual Basic skills are long outdated. Is it possible to write a macro that will toggle the Nudge Distance between .125" and 100" ?
I'm sure there could be. What is the application of such a macro?
Did you know you can set different nudge differences and then use them with CTRL and ALT as modification keys?
I do a lot of tedious repetitive work setting up vehicle graphic artwork and it'd speed things up quite a bit if I could simply toggle between the two dimensions I use most often.
How do you use CTRL and ALT to change the nudge distance, that sounds like it may be exactly what I'm looking for.
Nudge does not appear in the VBA help file, so I don't think there will be a way to set it directly in a macro.
VBA does have workspace.activate which is not something I've used, but suggests you could probably create two workspaces with different nudge settings, and use a macro to flip between them. But ... changing workspaces is a slow process and is probably best avoided for that reason, even if it works.
As a possible alternative, you could perhaps create a macro/toolbar with four buttons that perform the same function as nudge.
I quickly tried to record a macro to set Nudge to .125", unfortunately it didn't work. "Recording of this command is not supported: NudgeSettings". I'll investigate further after I get my project finished up.

This would work well, you could even make diagonal buttons. You could add the modifier keys Ctrl and Shift, and or assign the Ctrl / Shift modifier a certain value. You could make quick presets to change nudge distance also.
Another idea would be AutoHotKey or a program like MacroExpress. This would very quickly change the value in the nudge text box.
