Benchmarking CorelDraw X5 (and others)

This is been on my mind since X5 came out and we had the pleasure of testing it only to find problems with the saving speed and also the display updates of the screen.  However as we post, we seem to be discussing the problems and answers maybe a bit cryptic.

I would like to purchase hardware that allows me to make improvements over a network or hard disk (e.g. SSD) and is buying more cores in a processor worth it? Would the latest extreme i7s make a bit of difference?

So we need a bench marking method that we can run in most of the later version of Corel which:-

1: Reads the Spec of your computer

2: Stores into a results page (Exportable).

3: Tests the saving time of a file

4: Tests the importing of a file

5: Uses GetTickCount() methods for precision.

6: Convert objects To Bitmap test?!

The problem I can see, would there be anyway of telling when a redraw of a screen is completed?!

Thoughts please, I can program some of this up but I would like to solve the refresh problem with bitmaps (see my old posts)
