Was wondering what the ideal export criteria is for buttons on the x4 user interface. Ive made buttons in the past but could never get the size quite right. What is the best export dpi from draw and what size should they be made Ie: 22x 22 pixels exported to bmp @ 72 dpi gives me a button that is somewhere between a large and medium size button. I would like to make smaller but the resolution seems too small for anything ledgable. Whats the scoop with color now? Greyscale only????
Thanx for any help
Andy
The Buttons appear to be 24x24 pixels for medium and 16x16 for small icons. DPI is irrelevant in screen images.
The gawdy buttons of the previous versions have been banished. There was much complaining about them when they came out. Not all buttons are in grayscale. The Interactive Blend Tool , The Fill Tool, to name a few, are in color or have colors.
I find the subdued interface refreshing and easier to use.

Thanks for your reply. With A bit of reallisation, the medium size buttons are indeed 24 x 24 pixels. The smaller buttons (standard) are 16 x 16.
Im afraid I have to absolutely disagree with you on the color issue. The color was an integral part of my draw 12 workspace. How you would make a series of buttons that ran macros. The macros made red neon with a glow on alpha, Orange neon with the glow, gold neon, yellow neon, white neon(4500k), white neon(6500k), white neon3200k), Purple neon,, magenta neon, blue neon And 2 shades of green. Now even with a 24 x 24 pixel button how would you diferentiate? With text? not readable. Perhaps percents of grey? not deceranable. It may have been "Gawdy" but very necessary. Now all i have is random grey blobs. Fantastic. I think the developers really screwed up here. Word to the wise. Dont import your color buttons from older versions. It makes Corel VERY unstable.
Again, I do thank you for your reply. sorry if I come off with a bad attitude. Im really disapointed with Corel. Ive been faithful since version 7. Im courting illustrator now but have a lot to learn.
