After I designed a file in Sketchup, saved it as a pdf, and imported it into CorelDraw, I attempted to crop it. The crop tool doesn't work properly. It crops off more than I designated it for.
Perhaps you would get more satisfactory results using PowerClip?
Eskimo, what a great idea! Thank you. The only drawback so far is that it can't be viewed in Wireframe, but it's still a fantastic workaround.
Ronny, thank you. Sorry, the file will not upload. Keep getting an error message.
Try changing the file extension to .ZIPThis community doesn't accept .CDR (!).
Ronny, were you able to view the file?
Hm? Have not seen any file, where did you post it?
Ronny, sorry, every time that I try to upload the file (cdr or zip) I get this message, "An error occurred. Please try again or contact your administrator."
Another option is to put the file on-line somewhere (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer) and then post a link to it.
Eskimo, thanks for the advice. Here's the link drive.google.com/open
Got the file. The tricky part here seems to be the colored areas, which are nothing more than a bitmap in the background. For some reason this bitmap doesn't follow the Crop marquee when cropping, but I have no idea why.The simple workaround (even though I think it should work without a workaround) is to select and convert the bitmap to bitmap again, to get rid of any mucky information that might be in it.I tried and after doing so it cropped as expected.Another approach could be to first crop all the vector objects (but not the bitmap) and then manually move the corner nodes of the bitmap with the Shape tool, to make it fit to the vector objects.I suggest you draw a temporary rectangle first to serve as a guide when cropping and moving the corner nodes.Enabling Snap to Objects makes it easier to both crop and move the nodes to the right position.
One more tip:You can also use the Shaping commands (Trim or Intersect) to cut off pieces of the vector objects and bitmap.Seems to work without converting the bitmap first.
