Hi,
can someone tell me where in CorelDraw 2019 the "Minimum extrude facet size" setting can be found? It is not available in the menu> Options.
In the CorelDraw 2018 version this setting could be found in the menu> Options.
Thanks a lot
TOM
CorelDraw 2019
CorelDraw 2018
My guess is that they have been removed because they aren't needed any more.Or are they?Don't even know what "Minimum extrude facet size" is.Tried increasing the value in 2018 but couldn't notice any difference.
changing the minimum extrude facet size deternines how many objects (how small) Draw will use to simulate a shading on a curved object. This only comes into play if you use the lighting or color shading option for the extrusion.

Oh, I see.I've used the default value and never even thought about an ability to change it.The Draw 2019 default seems to be the same as in 2018, but as you have found there is no longer any way to change it.Is this a problem for you?
It appears that it is still possible to change facet size via the Registry, if you are comfortable doing that.Dator\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\CorelDRAW\21.0\Draw\Application Preferences\Options - Display > ExtFacetSizeThe default value is 10000, which is the same as 1,0 millimeter, and it looks as the values can be anything between 254 (0.0254 mm) and 9144000 (914.4 mm).Not sure how useful the extremes would be though. :-)Remember to close Draw before changing the value, and always be careful when playing with the Registry.
That setting is also stored in the workspace .CDWS file (in the settings.ini file that is contained in it).
When a workspace is activated, it can change the value that is in use by CorelDRAW (and is shown in the Registry).
How things work depends on the order in which things are done. It is possible to make the change in the Registry, as you suggested, and then have that value saved by CorelDRAW in a workspace.
It is also possible to change the value in the settings.ini in a .CDWS file - but I think it needs to be a workspace that is NOT the workspace that was active in CorelDRAW when it was last closed. When that edited workspace is activated in CorelDRAW, then the value from it will be used (and changed in the Registry).
All of that complexity goes away, of course, if CorelDRAW has those settings present in the Options panel. Whether that was left out of 2019 intentionally, or by accident, I have no idea.
Thank you very much for your help! This is a good solution. If I have time, I will change the setting in the registry.
The Corel support also checks the topic.Maybe these settings will be added in the option field sometime again.
Many thanks for the help.
