Print merge issues

I do engraved brick pavers and use a master template set-up restraining text width. This keeps the line text from expanding past the required width. There is only so much room on a brick.

This works great without resizing lines that are normally too wide for the paver. 

Whenever I try to create a new merge to the template, I have to redo the complete layout and formatting. This can be a pain.

Sometimes I can just do the merge and all the info seems to work fine. Other times I have to re-insert selected field using the toolbar. Not sure why this happens.

On jobs that do not need the size formatting, I can just pick my CSV file and double click the "Line #1" and replace it with the "Insert selected field" Line #1.

Is there a way for me to keep my template formatting using the print merge? I have tried changing the text font in the Excel file and also in the Corel template and I still have to redo the formatting for every new merge.

I hope I explained my issue clearly enough.
