I used to be able to import .ai files when I had Corel X6 but since i upgrated to 2019 I can't do it. All i get it a thinking curser and then i have to abort because it never gets to the end. So something is making it not finish the process.
Thanks in advance for anyone who could help :)
Is this with one specific file or any?If one, please upload so we can give it a try.
Hi. No it seems to be with all .ai files. But here is the file I am trying to use. Thank you :)
West Coast - Circle Logo.ai
I get the same in version 2018 and X8, the only two versions I have installed. GhostScript is installed.
I can get it into CD if you need it.
I placed it into QuarkXPress and exported as an .eps file. Exporting from a layout application as a pdf would work as well.
Cannot open in CorelDraw2019.
Tried two ways (both worked)
1. rename *.ai to *.pdf and then import to CD2019 (ai file created in Adobe illustrator 24.1 and save as ai/pdf version 1.5)
2. open *.ai file in AdobeReader, save it as pdf and then import pdf to CD2019
Thank you
I have managed to import file into version 2020 OK. I don't use the 2020 because I didn't like it compared to 2019 so went back to that version.
So anyhow thank you so much for your responses I should be able to use the file now that I have it in 2020.
Cheers
Glad you managed to solve it, Ceduna Signs.I could import your file into Draw 2020 but not 2019.Since the file has been saved with PDF compatibility, it is easy to change the extension from AI to PDF, and then this file will open in Draw 2019 too.Select "Curves" on import and you get a perfect result (this time).
