Hi all, I have Windows 11 and a few days ago I started using Corel suite 2019 again.
Problem:
If I right click on a .cpt file, it opens PhotPaint, but not the file. I have to click on Open and then I can open it.
Any suggestions.
Thanks
Zakka
I'm assuming that this is in Windows Explorer correct?
Yes....
Mysteries of computing: it works now !
You ask for suggestions so I want to give you a useful suggestion.
What ever morning drink you prefer, (tea for me) get yourself a big cup and enjoy yourself, open your files from within Draw.
I've gone through this with various versions over more than 3 decades. It works than after a Windows update ot 2 it stops, then after some time I accidentally find out that it started to work again.
I'm more concerned about the cost of eggs, they went up 40 cents again this week.
You may try various things like clearing temp files but from my experiance there's no way to be sure.
See what I mean!
I understand what you mean.
Even yesterday, reinstalling the program, the Clone tool was working correctly.
This morning it did not.
It must be because it got cloudy.
In the future to know whether Corel will work or not, I will look at the weather forecast first.
Thank you :)
After over 3 decades of using graphics programs Corel mainly, I can only say that the Windows 10 model was the worst thing to happen for developers. By that I mean that the Windows 10 model of updating carried to a more extreme with Windows 11 is that the operating system has become a moving target, very difficult to program for. There are constant updates changing the behavior of my programs, not just CorelDRAW.
I notice it with all my programs if I use them enough, I notice it with The CorelDRAW Graphics Suite because I use it much more than others, but even Micro Soft applications.
An example is the zoom in Photo-PAINT. I'll open an image turn off the grid on at 800%, zoom in and all is well. The I get a Windows update and the same process results in micro fine horizontal lines at 800% or higher in the display. Then in a while I get another update and the lines disappear, then again, I get another update and they reappear. Go figure.
I have an intensive dislike for digital noise in images, so I have a multi-application process that always ends in Photo-PAINT and requires zooming at 800+% to check, it is also the first process that I apply in Photo-PAINT, so I open the image, zoom to 800+% and turn off the grid, apply the noise tune filter and the lines never appear, regardless of the state of the Windows updates.
