I recently have been having this problem publishing a Corelx8 file with a gradient fill to Pdf.
The fills after exporting are ALOT of vector solid fills getting lighter to darker like an eps.
It used to turn gradients into a bitmap, I know that setting is in the export settings, but clicked on or not it turns my gradient fills to ALOT of vectors.
I reset back to default and it still does this. What has changed?
I had to re do my art over and over and i did get it one TIME to export it as a bitmap, second, third, fourth,....... 40th try all vectors.
I can't figure out the rhyme or reasoning for this. I tried, all the configurations PDF x-1a. PDF x-3 i lowered the resolution to 72, I raised the resolution.
Still can't get it to publish as a bitmap like it used to do.
Any help would be greatful.

It seems that you're using compatibility with an old version of Acrobat, such as PDF X/1a or PDF X/3
Try using "compatibilty" with Acrobat 8.0 or higher
TY for replying Ariel,
My problem is when in Corelx8 "publish to PDF" gives me options, be it DC , 9.0, PDF X/1, PDF X3 PDF a1b / render complex fills to bitmaps. I tried ALL the available options and NONE change the "gradient fill to a bitmap when i import it back into corelx8. ONLY the computer 3 changed this to a bitmap, with all the same settings as the other 2 computers.
YES, it will print correctly, but i send my artwork out to a digital house to print on vinyl, as i have for over 20 years now with NO issues. I always import my work back into Corelx8 to check for any errors or conversion issues. I can't even check them now corelx8 chugs so bad or most of the time i need to task manager and close corelx8 because it's non responsive.
well, maybe I didn't explain enough: I mean to choose PDF X/3 as "PDF Preset" option and choose "compatibitity" with Acrobat 8.0 or later (it will become a custom PDF but it's the same than PDF X/4)
I don't have all those options in Corelx8, i have Adobe DC, adobe 9.0 and the PDF ones.
I tried them all.
I did find out the problem and posted below
