Good Morning - I have recently converted to X4 from ver. 12 and I am having problems when publishing to PDF with file size. Previously when using ver. 12 my PDF would rarely come out over 1MB in size now they are converting to between 3 and 12 MBs. Can anyone help me get these down to previous size. Most files I need to convert are for client approval and contain both bitmap and vector images. I need to keep the vector images vector and cannot present them as jpeg.
Any help would be great - thanks.

I found an unusual solution! I save another version (so you don't lose your uncompressed original). Then, in the low version, I convert every page to a Bitmap set to 300 dpi Paletted 8 Bit. It looks fine! The file size is cut down by almost 10 times! It sounds crazy, I know. But I even printed the document out, and I do not notice any loss in print quality. The colors look totally fine.
Convert to bitmap is not a good solution for all files. And using paletted bitmaps is not a good solution, except if it was for digital printing only. For professional printing output, never use "palleted" bitmaps.
For digital printing, you'll have a better results using 200 dpi instead 300
