Hi all,
The menu bar in Corel GS X4 is black in Vista and Win 7. It may look great in Vista, which has black title bars for maximized windows, but it looks really out of place in Win 7, which has transparent title bars even in maximized windows.
Is there any way to make the menu bar look like it does in, say, Windows XP? I wasn't able to find anything in options, but maybe some registry tweak or something?

This is a Windows function and not a CorelDRAW function.
Right Click on the Windows Desktop, then select Personalization. From there, you can change many aspects of the way Windows looks, including the colors on the task bars, etc.
Hugh, it may be a Windows function, but I have found such behavior only in Corel GS X4 menu bar, nowhere else. Changing the general settings would affect other programs too, which I don't want.
I think X4 automatically recognizes the OS and switches its menu bar to black color. When I run X4 in Compatibility Mode with XP SP3, the menu bar becomes normal. But in XP mode it asks for elevated permissions each time I run it, which is annoying.
Actually I love the way windows 7 looks.
No complains here on my part with Draw's appearance.
The color of the menu bar has not disturbed me. I really never took an interest in trying to change it. However, playing around with the display settings in Win 7 (RC), I could not change it nor any other applications menu bar......if I could, then I would know for sure that it was Windows or Corel that has chosen the black menu bar.
I also love the way Windows 7 looks (not mentioning the way it works) but that's not the point.
I just don't like the white text on the black menu bar, it doesn't look good on my LCD monitor. Besides, now that Vista's black title bar is gone, I don't see any reason why the menu bar should be black, when everything else is either gray or transparent.
Anyway, let's not discuss the personal preferences but rather focus on the topic please.
