I am having problems working with the cut file in Rasterlink. The print file is sent over from Corel Draw X4 fine but after it has printed (then removed, laminated) then returned to complete the cut part it throws up an error and won't cut this file. Is anyone else experiencing this as it is a major interruption to the process. I have to go over to Fine Cut to finish this job and I'm not overly familiar with it and have wrecked a couple of jobs due to my ignorance. Has anyone else had any problems. Do I need to update my Corel
Currently I am working with Windows 7, I do most of my work in FlexiExpert and move it over to Corelx4 to print via Rasterlink. Hope someone can help me here. Thank you.
Hello Carol; Make sure the cut line is a Hairline. with no fill and look at how you made the cut line. ( It may need converting to curves. Also the right color.

A quick search on the web shows a very similar problem. http://www.signs101.com/forums/showthread.php?104120-Rasterlink-problem-with-CJV30-160
Very interesting Jack and this is a recent post so quite relevant. I will refer my tech to this post and see what he makes of it.
Hey thank you everyone, this is an annoying problem as I'm sure you will all know. :-)
We use RasterLink and FineCut Pro. RasterLInk is just the RIP software for printing and has nothing to do with the plotter. That's what FineCut is for. You have to create your cut line in CD and make sure it's on it's own layer labeled cut and turn off print. Then you have to create a rectangle around what you're trying to cut. Make sure it's about 1/2" or so larger and that it's on layer one. Save it and open the file in CD that has the FineCut software and has the toolbar visible. Select that outer rectangle and use FineCut to create Registration marks. Save it and that is now your print file. Print & laminate it, load into the plotter and align the laser dot intl the bottom right corner of the first reg mark then hit enter.
