Importing pdf files gets "File Corrupted" message

Is there a reason that sometimes I can import pdfs and its fine, but others will not import, displaying "File is Corrupted".  I can still open and edit those same "corrupted" files in Adobe Acrobat just fine, but they won't come into Corel.  Is there another way to get those pdf files to open in Corel?

    I've just been messing around with the same issue. Nothing worked until I extracted a page as a separate file. I was then able to open that extracted page without issue.

    Just to be clear, you click on 'Extract Page', which may have to be added to your toolbar, and then select the 'Extract Pages As Separate Files' checkbox. It will prompt you to select a save location. Then try opening the file.
