I need to be able to tell how long a line or group or lines are. So if I drew a 2 inch square box I would like to be able to see that the total length of the line is 8 inches. The actual lines I will need to know the length of will not be straight and uniform, they will be curved and jagged and there will be multiple lines so it would be nice to select them all and see that is have 45 inches of line or whatever it may come out to. Is this possible? My actual application for this is estimating cutting time on my laser. If I know the total line length I can estimate the time it will take to cut the piece. Thanks Greg
Sorry I did not specify I am using X5
You did not say which version. In X5

Yes, try each of these free macros to see what you like best
Jeff's
GDG's
Ok I tried those macros and they will be helpful, thanks. I am still looking for a way to give the total line length of the whole "job". the macros will only measure one line at a time. Do you know of any way to get all the lines at one time?

Thanks Jeff, that works well with some jobs that have lines that are all connected. But when I job has any line that is not connected to the rest the macro will not function when I select everything. At least with the info you gave me I can figure out the length of the job in a few minutes which is much quicker then how I had to do it before. Thanks for your help. If you have any other ideas I would appreciate it, if not then thanks again for your help.
