Though I know that I will come out as an absolute newbee (what I am) I need to know the following.
I bought a graphic which separate objects should be color changeable due to given clipping paths.Unfortunately, I did not manage to change any attributes of this grafic. I would like to get rid of the white background and I to change the color of the different objects, but no way.
Can somebody please help with a magic hint?
Thank you!
No one to help...?
Does the file open in photopaint?
If it does, how many objects do you see in the object docker (should be on the right of the screen) and what are they described as?
The file is a simple jpg. No idea where it should hide a clipping path.Which file types do offer a changeable clipping path?
Can someone please tell me of what type my file should be to have a workable clipping path?
JPG format does not support transparency or alpha channels (clipping paths). It would have to be a PSD or TIF file for clipping paths or PNG, GIF, TIF for transparency.
Did whoever sold you the file say it contained clipping paths?
Thank you for your reply, Evan53.

Yes, I bought this file at iStockphoto. I already contacted the person who is publishing this grafic....let's wait and see.
Kind regardsSanne
I was partially incorrect. Channels and paths are two separate things. JPGs can have paths embedded but not channels. iStockphoto only allows two file formats; JPG for bitmaps and EPS for vectors. I saw somewhere that only the highest resolution version of JPGs come with clipping paths if included.
I created a file, made a clipping path and saved it as a JPG. It opens correctly in Photoshop but the path is missing when I open it in Photopaint X6. What program are you trying to open it in?
I opened it in Photopaint X5.
The purchased grafic file is of medium size (XLarge - 4850 × 2425 px). I am going to find out more about the relation file size to included clipping path at iStockphoto...
Unfortunately, I got no reply from the drawer of this grafic up to now.
Evan53, you are right! iStockphoto only includes the clipping path in the biggest file versions only.
Thank you and all for your kind help! Now it is clear where the path has gone... this is really sad.
iStockphoto should make that clearer when you go to purchase a photo.
It looks like we've discussed this before.
