i use this tool to delete some extra lines that are not needed when two curves cross
the problem is that after the use of the tool, there are 2 edges of the curves clearly visible, and the two curves dont blend in smoothly
im really sorry if im not being understood but i dont know a better way to describe it!

Can you post a screenshot of what you're experiencing?
take a close look, the edge on the right is kinda smooth, but the other two edges are doing this "not-connecting" thing
Have you tried using the Shape Tool (F10) to connect the nodes?
And changing the Miter Limit to 15 as shown below.
I've also found a video showing the new Virtual Segment Delete Tool. Credit go to the Dev who posted this.
Holding alt and dragging allows you to draw a curve. Any virtual segment which intersects that curve will be deleted Holding shift enters a weld mode. If you click on two overlapping curve end points, it will perform a join on them. You can also drag, or alt+drag while holding shift to create a marquee which will weld multiple overlapping nodes.
