I am trying to get a trial version of Corel Draw X5 running on Win 7, but I always get error 1 when trying to start.
I downloaded from different sources (Corel Draw website as well as others) and tried different languages, always same.
I deactivated my Antivirus when installing (currently only Threatfire), same result.
I tried to repair the installation, no change.
I tried different compatibility modes, still no change.
I even get the same error when trying Corel Draw X4.
Protexis and FLEXnet Licensing services are both running.
OS is Win 7 Home Premium.
Capture and Connect are both starting, but Draw and Photopaint always fail with error 1.
Any suggestions?

Try this, first. Press and hold down the F8 key while starting DRAW. Answer "Yes" to resetting your workspace to factory defaults.
Same result.
There was no window or something where I could opt to reset to factory defaults.
Hello Hal9000; If the "F8" and the "repair" didn't work I would look at the way you have Windows and the computer setup.
My Thoughts George
One other thought, since you are running Windows 7, do you have the default AERO display rather than the classic/retro themes? If so, set your system to use the Aero default display theme and see if that makes a difference.
Thanks for your help, Hugh. Yes, the default AERO theme is running.
