Seems the same problem of this post: http://community.coreldraw.com/forums/t/25598.aspx
and the most probably answer is to have an outline around the object, as John said before and as I said in the other message
the idea behind is ....
ctrl+n > 1200x800px .......... I draw a 400x400px object in the middle .... export .... jpg result 400x400px
but I have set that layout has to be 1200x800px ... did you get my point ?

Hi.
A quick fix for this might be to double click the rectangle tool. This creates a rectangle, which will be used as you jpg background.
Make sure to choose no outline color for the rectangles outline. Then export and your item will be the size of the drawing area automatically.
Sounds like your coming from a PS workflow and you are used to painting on the canvas.

thx man ;) this really helped me + you are right I come from PS :))) and I am learning the Corel workflow
if you have some good tutorials o r advices where to look to learn it I would appreciated it ;) thx again
John, Ariel, anyone? ....
I have a question for you "sort of" related here. When would you ever use the Behind Fill option? I know what it does, but I am not sure why you would use it. If you add a 4pt outline behind fill, you will see 2pt of the outline, right? If you have a 2pt outline and don't choose behind fill you also see a 2pt ouline...the only difference being that the first example will give increase the length of the shape by a greater amount.
Also, Illustrator has inside, middle and outside options of where the outline sits - from what I have read in here many times. Would those features be of much value to CorellDraw users? Does this affect alignment of shapes, or does it purely affect dimensions?
Best regards,Brian.

No, the size is the same. If you have a 4 pt outline (behind fill or not) you will have allways 2 points outside and 2 point inside, because the outline is allways centered on the edge. So, the total size will increase 4 points (2 pt for each side) If you have a 2 points outline, you will have 1 pt outside and 1 pt inside, so the total size will increase 2 points (1 point around is 2 points total, 1 left+ 1right, 1 top+1 bottom). Size doesn't change wif the outline is "behind fill" or not, only you see half if you choose this option.
The option of Illustrator (inside, outside, middle) changes the size but since CorelDRAW has only one option (middle) the size is allways fill size+outline size (altought the program doesn't include the "ouline size" in the object size, so the real size if bigger)
Thanks for your reply, Ariel. I think you and I meant the same thing, but said it differently. I did mean that if you have a 4pt outline behind fill and a 2pt outline not behind fill....both shapes will visually "show" a 2pt fill, but the 4pt outline shape will be larger.
I am still curious what these settings are for....if they only change the size of the shape, then what is the point in them? If you had the 3 options Illustrator offers, why would you ever choose the centred option we (only) get in Draw? I can understand the choice between having the outline not affect the size of the shape, or have it "outline" the shape, adding to the size of the shape. I cannot see any advantage whatsoever in half of the outline being inside the shape and half of it outside. It seems more confusing than anything else.
