I installed the X5 suite and updates, set up my macros, and everything was working fine. When I restarted Coreldraw, all my macros were disabled????? I uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled, and the same thing happened again. Everything works fine in X4.
I am getting SO frustrated.
My OS is Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!
Do you have all of the patches for Vista, installed, (I see that you have Vista's SP1, but anything later?) especially the patches for Visual Studio run times? IIRC, either Visual Studio 2005 or 2008 had a patch that was important.
Also, do you have SP3 for the CGS X5 installed?
I have SP3 for CGS X5 installed. I am not sure what patches have actually been installed for Vista / Visual Studio. Unfortunately my work computer is not kept updated like my home computer is. I use Win7 at home and I have no problem with X5 and macros.
I understand that the Visual Studio patches could make a difference, but isn't it strange that the macros work just fine until after Coreldraw is "restarted" the first time after it has been installed, and that macros are not disabled in X4?
Hi.
Uncheck the Delay load VBA checkbox in Tools > Options ...VBA
See if that makes any difference.
Also...
Make sure you are logged on as the correct user or Admin.
Check permissions on gms folder you are using to store macros.

Everything checks out except the Delay load VBA checkbox in Tools>Options is grayed out .
I will have the computer updated and see if that makes a difference.
Is there that big a difference between X5 and X4 that allows X4 to work and not X5?
Mostly in the .NET, which you need for X5. Especially .NET 3.x. That may be part of the updates that you need for your Vista machine.
