When I start CorelX5, on my new PC with Windows 8.1, a warning window that tells me that there are compatibility issues. If I click on Help, nothing happens. What can I do?!
Thanks Zakka
I upgraded to 8.1 from 8 because my windows machine kept urging me to. It had seemed to be running ok on 8, but with 8.1 it freezes continually. Many times on the open dialog. I have to use Task Manager to shut it down. I realize that X7 has now been released and X5 predated Windows 8, but I REALLY wish there was a fix for this. Coincidentally, I tried to system restore, after I really got frustrated with the crashing and there were no dates before the 8.1. I don't know if that is somehow intentional on Mircrosofts account or not. For the time being, I downloaded a trial of X7, but a few of my ad ons don't work with X7 yet. I'm really stuck and it's not fun!! Hopefully an upgrade will be in the budget soon.

Hi,
As much as this would be wonderful, for X5, unfortunatley dont count on it. Moeny and resources are most probably put on securing that X6 and most defintely X7 works as supposed to, on Win 8 and 8.1.
Another thing to consider also, is that when we are on X7 version, I guess X5 (a great version after all service pack 3 and hotfix) is bordering to loose eligability to upgrade for let say version X8 and X9 when that arrives in 2-4/5 years from now.
You have to acknowledge that each individual version of Microsoft software is seen as a new operating system. And to make all versions to work on new operating systems cost tons of money and allocated resources put on the most new versions.
