Hi,
I have a problem with the fountain fill in Coral Draw X5. When I pick the 2 colors that I have want to use it doesn't show the same colors on the shape that I'm filling. It looks like this:
As you can see the gradient is not the same on the shape.. why is that?
Thanks in advance/ramo_and
What is the primary color mode of your document?
It seems you have created a CMYK document and in Fountain Fill you have used RGB colors. And thats the reason I believe the colors are coming different.
Check your primary color mode in Document Properties from File menu.
Yeah, you're right. Primary color mode is CMYK. How do i change that? Do I have to create a new document?
No, you don't have to create new document.
Simply go to Tools - Color Management - Document Settings...
In the docker, change the primary color mode from CMYK to RGB.
Ok I did this but nothing happens.. colors are still the same. Do I have do anything else?
EDIT: It's the same if I copy all shapes and paste them in a new document with RGB color mode..
As you can see in attachment, it is working fine here.
Can you post the screen shot of your color management settings?
From Tools - Color Management - Default Settings.
Ok :) Here it is:
You posted the wrong screenshot. I want to see this screen. Tools - Color Management - Default Settings... (not the Document settings)
There is one more option that you can try turning it off..
Go to Tools - Options
In the docker, in left pane, click on Workspace - Display. In right pane there will be a check box saying "Proof color by default".
Is this enavled? If yes, disable it.
If you are creating your artwork for print, there might be difference between the colors you see on screen and you print.
Ok sry.. here's the right one (I hope :P)I'm creating a EPS logo for print so maybe it's better to go for CMYK then.. but i would like to have the same colors as I've used in Photoshop.
When I open the EPS in photoshop in CMYK mode the colors look different.. I know that's because CMYK can't "produce" the same colors as RGB but I Coraldraw the RBG and CMYK looks the same... Should it be like that?
Ok, Good. This is what I wanted to see :)
First of all, since you want to match the colors as in PS, I would sugget you download & install Adobe Color Management Module from the link given below. Its a free software.
http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/cmm/win/AdobeCMMAll.zip
After installation, start Draw and in Color Management - Default Settings, select Adobe CMM from Color engine dropdown. Under Rendering Intent, use "Perceptual", enable "Preserve Pure Black" check box & Primary Color Mode as CMYK.
Absolutely must! CMYK for print files. Dont even think of RGB :-).
Both systems must display exact same colors now. Enter the same CMYK values you use in PS. Also make sure the file in PS is CMYK.

Thats because you have used the same palette for both the fills. For RGB colors you'll have to open up RGB palette (Window - Color Palettes - RGB Palette) and use color from there. That will give you bright RGB colors. The palette that comes up by default is normally a CMYK palette.
