I loaded the trial of X6 and now I have no thumbnails for X5.
I reassociated the files with X5 ... but still no Thumbs.

Any Ideas?? TIA

If you have uninstalled X6, then you'll have to follow few steps to get X5 thumbnails back....
Hope this helps.
Thanks, Pratik.
I installed the paid download version of CorelDraw Graphics Suite X5 and verified that the Corel Graphics - Windows Shell Extension was installed in the Control Panel under Windows Vista. It was there, but thumbnails for .CDR files only show the Corel icon in Corel Connect regardless of the .CDR file being on a CD, DVD, or hard drive. However, thumbnails of photos show on hard drives but do not show on a CD or DVD under Windows Vista Ultimate in Corel Connect. I ran the CorelDraw installer again and chose Modify, as you show in your screen capture. Even though the Windows Shell Extension is installed in Control Panel, it does not show at all in the installer under Features like it does in your screen capture. I tried a full reinstallation of CorelDraw GS X5 and selected "custom." The shell extension showed in the installer, and I verified it was checked before I finished the installation. When I went back later, because the thumbnails were not corrected, I selected Modify / Features and the shell extension once again did not show in the installer, even though it was installed in Control Panel. I don't know if I must delete a key in the registry and try again or just give up with this nagging problem. Other than not needing X6, this is a prime example of why I would rather not spend more money on upgrading Corel products, even though I've used CorelDraw since 1992. You would think that the Corel programmers could fix this problem after all of the complaints, but for some reason, they haven't. Interestingly enough, X5 with Corel Connect works fine in Win XP and shows thumbnails from photos and .CDR files on hard drives, CDs, and DVDs.
Thanks Shah
