Hi,
Good day to everyone.
Yesterday one of my friend asked me how to create star with round edge as opposed to pointed edge. Quite fascinated by his challenge I started my beloved CorelDraw and drew a star with 40 spikes at a depth of 10. Since the stars have pointed edge, I used the Filler tool to round-off the sharp edges, I was successful, but the fillet tool also rounded off the lower (inside) node. hence I failed, to create what my friend had challenged.
One option is to create a star, then painfully select only the outer nodes and use the fillet tool to round off the edges. Is there any other easy method of doing the same in CorelDraw.
( My friend apparently uses the rival program Adobe Illustrator and mocks me using CDR )
Thanks in advance,Best Regards,S. Sakthivel
The Polygon tool in Draw creates rather amazing shapes actually.Once created it is possible to manipulate individual nodes with the Shape tool, and all nodes at the same position on every corner will change accordingly.Nodes can be added or deleted and curves can be manipulated. And later, It is still possible to change from a five point polygon to a six point, for example.
Can this be done in Illustrator? How does one create a star with rounded corners in Illustrator?(questions to Sakthivel's friend, or anyone else)

Hi, Ronny,
Thanks for pointing out. I asked the same question to my friend (says he's a pro in illustrator) and he refereed to the following You tube Video
www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYpxbaVbvHI
After watching it, it was my turn to laugh at him, as the video was showing is creating scallop (coreldraw term) using illustrator
Thanks everyone for the replies.
BTW did anyone try the multigon tool from oberonpalace. the tool had much more to do, I would love if the corel folks take a note and incorporate it in future version.
Multigon tool url is at

Works only with Corel X6

Show him how we can manipulate a Polygon in Draw (like I described), and ask him how to do it in Illy.
