I'm trying to replace the text in a logo with my own but I need it to curve at the bottom. You can see what I mean at the link below. The "Squadron" text is what I'm talking about.
How would I go about doing this?

Hello John; A screen shot below is a couple of ways to shape text as shown in you attachment. This was done in X6, but I'm sure it's the same.
George
I don't understand why but when I use the envelope tool and pull on one of the nodes on the text it just does nothing. The text flashes when I release as if it's going to change but it doesn't do anything at all. What am I doing wrong?
John if you look at Jacks post of your name above it lets you know that you are working with the text block as in the shaping. I don't have X5 but it does things a lot the way X6 does. Don't for get the HELP on the menu, there's nothing wrong with coming here and asking anything but some times the help is a lot faster answer. And it would help you to get some learning aids The Corel.com has some as well as You Tube, or you could go to Foster's web site and order some, they will cut the learning curve way down for you, I've been using Corel since ver. 1 ( over 20 years ) and I learn something new all the time by coming here and reading the post there are a lot of the best users around. Foster's site is ( http://www.unleash.com ). And don't for get to sign up for his News email it has a lot of good things to know.
Cool. Thanks!
Hi.
Just another quick tip. There are some modifier keys too. Hold Ctrl or Shift to get different results while moving the nodes on the envelope.
Oh, I'll have to try that.
There's something else I can't figure out. How can I overlay an image (a metal texture I have) over a PNG so that the image only shows through the non-transparent areas of the PNG?
Hello John; you can move parts of all of of a drawing to the front or bake of work area. once you have something selected that you wish to move you can press the Shift+ Page Up move the object up and the Shift+Page Down move it to the back. Or you can use the Order command.
