CDR to PNG export pixelated

Hello there,

I'm trying to export a logo which i made in corel to PNG. The image seems pixelated in JPEG format.

These are the settings for my export. also this logo is for a facebook page.

Please help.

Thanks in advance

  • It doesn't look pixelated in your screenshot.
Also, you're talking about exporting to PNG, but then you say it "seems pixelated in JPEG format".
    Please give us some more.
    • Unless I am seeing wrong, looking at your workspace tool bar it indicates the image is only 4.4mm square. Your export dia. shows you are going for 44.28mm. There lies your pixel issue. You should be thinking pixels for measurement and make your image the actual size.

      • FYI Bob, the toolbar is in 'cm', not 'mm', so the export is probably at 100%.
        Awaiting more info from shifanahmed.
        • Ronny,
at first i tried to export as a JPEG file and uploaded the photo to my page's profile pic. That was when i noticed the image was pixelated. so i did some reading and most ppl said that PNG files are better when uploaded to fb.
I actually shuffled the words when i first wrote this question here.
Also the preview from the corel draw, which i have taken a screenshot looks perfect. its only the jpeg and png which is being pixelated. i even tried to export it as a pdf and it looks totally fine.

          • PNG has its advantages, the compression is lossless (unlike JPG) and you can use transparency.
It only supports RGB though, not CMYK.

Anyway, would it be possible to upload a few files somewhere.
            1. the original CDR
            2. the JPG
            3. the PNG
            4. the PDF

Would be interesting to see what has gone wrong.

You say you uploaded to Facebook, right?
Was that when you first noticed the pixelation?
            • I gave up to produce perfect pictures for facebook and other social media sites. as they all use a kind of compression and resizing algorithm when you upload an image, that you cannot control.
              • Agree. Hence my questions about Facebook.
                • Again and again this is a topic in the media. Just recently:
                  http://lifehacker.com/why-facebook-makes-your-images-look-like-crap-and-how-1727836324

Yes, the interesting part is missing: do the pictures look pixelated before or after uploading?

Additionally, I would use in the export dialogue the unit "Pixel" instead of "millimeters". And use *exactly* these recommended dimensions that you can find everywhere in the internet. For example here: http://www.setupablogtoday.com/2015-social-media-image-sizes-guide/
