Thickening Vector Lines

I'm completely new to both Corel and vector images, so please excuse me if my question is nonsensical...

I imported a vector pattern that I plan to use as a frame from a PDF file as lines, but the lines are very thin, and I would like to make them thicker, but I'm at a loss as to how. I googled around a bit, and the outline tool came up, but no matter what I do, changing the thickness there doesn't affect anything, be the objects selected or not. Can anyone help me with this? I'm using CorelDRAW x5.

    Are you increasing the dimensions of the imported graphic? Could be the outlines are not set to scale with the graphic. Import the graphic then double-click on the outline color icon located at the bottom right of the screen. Click on "Scale with object", hit ok then resize as needed.
