Hi.
I use a custom workspace. For no reason, PP began to take an age and a day to fire up. The workaround the last time this happened was to revert to the Default Workspace and rebuild. Very annoying but it taught me the lesson to backup the custom workspace with a copy.
So, I switched to the backup - problem solved. PP then crashed, horribly. When I got back in, I found that I could no longer access either the backup or the default workspaces. I get this message -
But not a problem, as the custom workspace is still accessible, but how do I retrieve the default workspace and how do I get rid of the old backup?
Hello Shelly; I hope the Screen Shot below is of some help to you.
Good Luck, George
Sorry I hadn't explained this better. When I go to Import, there's nothing in the folders but *.xml files, which obviously don't open. There are no *.xslt files in any of the folders. Oh, found the old backup and deleted that, so it just restoring the default now.
I never use the export/import function; instead I backup the folders that are created in the workspace folder.
When you look at the contents of the custom workspaces there should be .ini , .xml, .msk, files.
The export is a single file with .xslt and it will be placed in the folder you direct it to when exporting, it looks as if you may be missing this file. You can search for .xslt in windows explorer, start the search at the root c:, it is never fun when this happens.
I recommend setting up your workspace again, then copy the workspace folders to your backup drive, see the previous post with the screen shot in the zip for the location. Now if this happens again you can replace them using windows explorer.
