I have a question about cropping pictures to standard picture/canvas sizes. I do paintings and want to make prints available. I took pictures of paintings with hi-res camera. The problem I have is cropping the image to match the size of the canvas or at least a proportionally smaller size, without messing ratio aspect. example- if canvas in picture is 16x20, how can I crop it so I can print it 16x20 in a 17x22 paper? If I have several different pics of different paintings, how do I crop so all print out the same size?
Hi Paul,
I don't understand your question -- but:
1. It's not possible to print multiple paintings at the same size unless you want to mess with the aspect ratio.2. I choose a paper size that is greater than the image in IMAGE > PAPER SIZE.3. I place the image in the upper right corner.4. After it's printed, I trim the paper (aka canvas) with a razor blade.Phil
An image will need to be sized proportionally, or lose some of one dimension. Unless you want to stretch or shrink one dimension which ruins the art. The directions I gave you work.
Not these options (Top left hand corner)? See attached image (units were supposed to be mm no cm, thought I corrected it... anyway)
ALSO:
When you create a new document, it is useful to set your CorelDraw document size to 17 x 20 (cm or whatever unit).
But if you are changing the image size, then normally you would want to resize and resample first. Then crop.
And when you are printing, set correct page/canvas size. And on the print window, click "layout" and just double check "Print as is" is selected under the first option "Image position and size"
