I converted it to a bitmap then setting it to Transparent Background... Using under "Bitmap/Creative/Vignette"special effect... the transparency doesn't work.
Any help please... explanation perhaps.
You may have converted it to a file format that doesn't support transparency (such as jpg). Try PNG.
Also, make sure you do not have another object behind your vignette that would be exported along with it. Or, you could select the vignette and do selected only.

Hi Cloyd,
The Vignette feature in both Draw/Photo-Paint doesn't create transparency, it adds a "coloured" vignette to an image. If you want transparency with some kind of control, try this:
The image will now be back in Draw with a transparent Vignette.
Best regards,Brian.
thanks for the insights
I'm sorry Brian but you are incorrect sir. PhotoPaint was not required in previous versions.
In Draw X5 we could take any object or bitmap, convert it to a bitmap with Transparency checked, and then apply a vignette using the Bitmap/Creative/Vignette feature, and the feathered edge would have a graduated transparency.
This feature is broken in Draw X6 with the update applied. I did not try it prior to the update..

I have never tried it in CorelDraw as I do all of my bitmap editing in Photo-Paint. Photo-Paint has always applied a coloured vignette, as far as I can remember. The easy way to use the tool and get transparency in Photo-Paint is to apply the Vignette effect to a clip mask rather than the Object itself. So have a "clip mask to show all" and then apply the vignette while the clip mask is selected.
Another way to achieve a faded out effect is using the Interactive Transparency tool directly in CorelDraw. I used RGB 0,0,0 black to make 100% transparency. The following image was a regular 4" x 6" image placed over a yellow rectangle and then the Interactive Transparency tool applied, as shown:
