Attached is a free macro which allows the user to draw a vector shape and give it a feathered edge. The macro allows the user to adjust feathering and opacity and it came about as a result of the discussion in this thread:
Please click on the small grey button at the right of the macro for help on how to use the macro. The macro currently only works on shapes with Uniform CMYK fills. I intend to bring out a revised version of the macro which can handle various fill types/colour models if I can pull it off.
Best regards,Brian.
Doesn't work for me. Having CDX6 and Win XP prof SP3 installed. Not work means the screen doesn't update even if I click on the small icon upper right corner. I can adjust the transparency as well as the feathering applied to the shape, but only in the property bar.
Edit: does work. Wasn't aware it works only on CMYK fills... ;-P

Hey Brian, the idea behind this macro is actually great and the effect demanded by a large group of users. Make this Macro Open Source based and I'll contribute my code from "DRAWShader", which was developed and distributed on vectorjedi.com. DRAWShader works a bit different at aplying the gaussian blur effect, but it has an additional TRUE Vector feathering process (I call it the "Alexey Oglusevic Method", named like the winner of the CorelDRAW Design Contest in 2009, because he was closely involved into the development of the vector feathering).
I've prepared a place in the wiki on this site, where Open Source Macro Projects could be published: http://community.coreldraw.com/wikis/resources/open-source-macro-projects.aspx
Hi Brian!

You are genius!!!
Thank you very much for sharing this with us for Free!

Hey Brian,
You indeed are a Genious!
I just tried your Macro and it works perfect even for the RGB and Grey scale!!
I guess, you might had worked on my first idea, developing the "drop Shadow effect" and you have achieved this WOW extension of this tool!! :-)
Here is what i did:
I only clicked the button to open your Macro in my Corel
and after that, i did all the control of color and so on with the Drop shadow "Settings Toolbar" that showed up above, as i was playing with my circle.
Thank you very much and I love your Macro. :-)
Can you extend this a little bit more so we can also apply the "interactive fill tool" on it and get two colors on the same object?
Or maybe i ask to much ;-)
Thank you you did an EXCELLENT job!

It's actually not possible yet to apply an interactive fill to a drop shadow. But you can break the shadow apart and apply the desired fill to the remaining rectangle which holds the feathering.
