Print Merge, X6, win7-64, Excel 2010 (and Excel 2002
Seems I can no longer access load data from .XLS file. Still works (on same PC) on X5. What's the deal on that? Or better yet, what is the solution.
File>Print Merge>Create/Load Merge fields...>Import Text from file or ODBC data source>ODBC Data Source>Select ODBC Data Source>Machine Data Source>Excel Files
The above menu path yields the following error: "The specified DSN contains an architecture mismatch between the driver and the application."
I understand I can save as a tab delimited file and work past this, but it is so convenient to work direct from the .XLS file.
Thanks Foster.
After reading your post I googled a bit and it sure sounds like you are right. But, at this point I'm no where close to understanding how/where to get 64bit Excel OCBC driver. One reference said win7-64 no longer supplies ODBC drivers except for SQL.
