In CorelDraw x6 if i draw a box & fill it with a colour from the default RGB or CYMK palettes how do i then adjust the tint of this particular colour?
If i open the uniform fill box there is a tint slider ...but it's nearly always greyed out?!
Pete
The tint values are primarily used with pantone colours but I can't think of a good reason for not enabling them in RGB or CMYK models.
As a possible alternative, you can get several tints of the colour by going to the "mixers" tab.
You can create a Color style, and create shades of the color (on the "new harmony" icon),
Thanks for the replies chaps
I have now found that once i have added any colour to my "Document palette", then double click on the colour (in the palette) this brings up the "Palette editor". If i then change "Treat as" from process to spot ....the tint slider in "Object properties" now comes to life & is usable!

If you are making PDFs purely for viewing, it is unlikely to be a problem. The PDF reader will display a green. If you are making a PDF for printing, this may or may not be a problem -- it will depend on the settings of the RIP which separates the PDF.
All in all, I'd suggest you do not do this without testing it first in the same circumstances that you intend to use the document.
So it looks like you did resolve your issue but Harry is right about Spot colors. Think of CMYK and RGB colors as mixes (like paint) and Spot colors as pre-defined (like colored pensils). In other words, mixing paint is a piece of cake but mixing pencils is probably not going to happen. Spot colors (or you may hear the term Pantone colors) are probably going to be used for screen printing or vynal or embroidery or other machines where colors will not be mixed but rather be applied in a pure form in limited numbers.
It seems to have sorted the problem onscreen & i will just have to bear that in mind if & when i print things!!
Thanks again for the advice ....As per my initial post, it does seem strange that the tint bar is always there, but mostly greyed out!!
