Hi,
I've had a look around the forums, and there are a number of "answers" for this but they all date back from 2 years ago or more so wondered if anyone had any other suggestions.
I run X6 on my machine at work running Win7 on a 256GB SSD no problems.
I run X6 on my machine at home runninf Win 8 on a 128GB SSD and an additional HDD serves my storage user files and temp drive copy and paste is crazy slow!
It's not temp files or "colour styles" I've checked and I have none...
Any suggestions?! My hunch is something to do with my user files on a different disk to my program and windows files... ;-)
Thanks in advance!
I am very sad to announce that Corel doesn't give a sh*t about us, customers! Why am I saying that? Because it's TRUE! There's a WELL KNOWN issue since (at least) version X8... that after Windows 10 Fall Creators + Latest AMD drivers cause CorelDRAW to act SLOWLY AS HELL! It's been complained, complained... and complained. Some Corel workers already came to this forum to tell us to wait for a solution... that they were working on a possible fix... BLAH BLAH BLAH! Bullsh*t! Since M$ is about to release the new update.... I've already downloaded it and installed a fresh brand new Windows 10 with "Spring" Creators (April Update) possible RTM version build 17133... and.....?? NOTHING, Corel still looks like sh*t... So, Corel released CorelDRAW 2018 (WOW!!) a "brand new" CorelDRAW!!! NOPE! It's the same sh*t as before ... I mean, the same core program.. so the problems from X8 were inherited to 2017 and now to 2018....
So, for my "surprise" (or not) CorelDRAW 2018 (doesn't) work the same way as it's predecessor ... doesn't bother to update your Windows 10 because that won't work neither.
Well, here I am, with an OUTDATED Windows version to work and ANOTHER SSD with updated Windows version to do other stuff!
BTW, as Corel Company doesn't care about us, I'm think of not caring about it... so I'll just start using a pirated version of Corel so I can't complain of wasting money.... or maybe I'll start improving my Illustrator skills to finally retire Corel...
PS: That's me get something off my chest.... sadly, AGAIN! (I really thought Corel 2018 would make the difference).
PS2: BTW ... THANKS for NOTHING Corel!
Hi there...luizmp.I'd like to speak in the name of Corel here. Even though you might think Corel doesn't give a sh*t about us customers, I think pretty much the opposite. To really solve YOUR problem, since it seems to persist through 3 versions, I think you'd have to send them YOUR computer. They might be able to find the issue! We all know the WINDOWS, only God knows why, partically never has the same behavior on so many computer. Explain why any program at all starts to be problematic, and after a reboot, everything goes well. There are so many different factors why a computer might be slower than another. Conflicts in the registry (that is a place where the might be SO MANY ISSUES), running programs conflicting, etc, etc...Corel can't be aware of how you mounted your computer, what programs are installed, how there installed, etc...Help them help you! What's more? How in the world can they predict what the heck MICROSOFT is gonna change in their darn updates?!!Try contacting the Corel Technicians we meet here on this forum. Don't call. Respectfully, Corel's phone service, like many other hardware and software companies, hire people from other countries that hardly speak english or french or other languages and the most of time don't know heck about what the servicing for. That's not only COREL...Try Dell for fun...It'll ruin your day, I can tell that much...My computer runs with the latest Windows 10 version, fully updated. Last version of CorelDRAW. Other than minor adjustments, little differences in behavior I can get used to, everything works fine!Another thing, I've NEVER known a more recent version of a program to be faster than its predecessor. NEVER. Programs are always more demanding for a computer. Hey! They want to sell computers too, you know!Good luck friend
