I have had CorelDRAW X6 for about 6-months with no problems. Recently I try to open X6 and the load time is extremly long. Once it finally loads the screen looks normal but when I click on anything on the screen i just get a "ding" sound and the screen is frozen. I actually have to go to task manager to shut it off.
Once in a while I can open a previous design and then everything will work fine. I thought I would try to re-install the software. I tried to uninstall but when I get to the uninstall page I see three options "Modify", "Repair", or "Remove". I can click on these but there is not other botton on the page like and OK or Continue, so I am stuck.
This software is very important to my t-shirt design business. Any suggestions how to either get it to load normally and act normal or at least be able to uninstall and re-install?
I would suggest you start by ensuring your .net is up to date -- you can install the latest from
Then check for other possible missing windows updates.
Finally, make sure you have the X6 service packs to bring it to X6.3 at http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index.jsp?pgid=800161&ppid=5000008
Thanks harryLondon - will give it a check out and let you know.
Took the advise and it helped with load time....much quicker. However, when it does open everything looks normal but when I click on anything it does react. Click on file to open new and the computer just responds with a "ding" sound.
I tried to unistall but the screen that gives you option to modify, repair, or remove does not have any button like "OK" or "CONTINUE".
Any ideas?
Those buttons can sometimes go missing if you have an unexpected screen resolution or have changed the font size.
I am having this exact problem.. Do you have a fix for it? Before, if I just restarted the computer, it would fix the problem but not now. I have even restored my computer a month and it is still not letting me in.
Any Help??
