I am having problems with the knife tool working properly. I select the outline where I want to start to cut and take the knife tool to where I want to end the cut and click and there is a visible line where the cut is going to be made but then when I tab once or twice it does nothing. Is this a software problem? I have reset the program holding the F8 key and it still doesn't work. Help please!

Edit: Does that video look wonky to anyone else? it runs find on my computer, but from the forum it has little squares fragments all over the place.

I'm using camstudio. Looks great from my hard drive, not so good from the net. I'll have to check more settings.
