Over the years, I've bought the occasional software package from JourneyEd, as I'm a teacher with precious little means and need any break I can get. I know I bought CorelDRAW 11, X5, and X6 from them.
I have only recently started using the copy of X5 I bought, and have noticed some odd things. Of course, it has (Not for commercial use) in the title bar. It's garish, but not a big deal. But a lot of keyboard shortcuts do not work, and that is a hassle for someone who has relied on them for years. Most everything I've done with X5 thus far has been fairly basic, so I can't say what other features have been disabled. I've read something about a watermark, but nothing I've printed has had one (I would be livid if it did).
I can't find any authoritative online reviews of the Education Editions. I've read Amazon.com reviews, but they aren't exactly enlightening.
Has anyone out there had any experience with these versions and can say, conclusively, what has been disabled or crippled in them?
Here's a link to X6:

I believe Harry is right. There is another command in the View menu that also has "w" as activator, probably "View Manager".
You can remove or change it by deleting or moving the "&" shown in the screenshot:
If you often switch between Enhanced and Wireframe for example, you can assign true hotkeys to them, like "w" and "e" (but "e" is the default key for Align Centers Horizontally) on the Shortcut Keys tab.It would also be possible to toggle these two view modes via a macro, but unfortunately I don't think you can run macros in the Education Edition.
That did it. I've never used View Manager, so I doubt I'll ever want that competing hotkey combination.
Thanks for your insights!
This little problem of mine was not due to limitations set upon the Education Edition of the software. But you say Macros are disabled for it? Anything else you can think of?
Macros are disabled for the Home and Student version. But the educational version is something different.
As far as I'm aware, the educational version does not have those limitations. But a simple way to check would be to look in the Tools menu. Is there a Macros entry at the bottom?
Yes, the Macros command appears on the Tools menu.
I would expect then that the macros also work.
To be completely sure, click on the macros entry and see if the VBA editor comes up. If it does, then I expect you would have the full macro support, because there would be no point in Corel paying MS for the VBA licence and then not letting customers use it.
