Hello,
I have an arabic based font called Al Fatemi (Lisan ud Dawat) that needs double typing of a character for some characters to be written. This feature worked well upto X3, but when I installed X6, the fonts stopped working properly. For example if i want to type ﭖ i have to type ث (English character R) twice. In X3 when i typed 'R' twice the ث converted to ﭖ, but in X6 this does not happen and it displays as ثث. There are 8 such characters in this font that have behave this way.
Please can anyone help me with this issue? I am using Windows 8.1 and X6.4.
Hello sakinak; What is the Ver. # of your X6, It can be found in the Help on the menu under About CorelDraw, for the latest rev. it should be 16.4.0.1280
George
Thank you for your response. Yes, the version number showa 16.4.0.1280.
Is there anything else i should look for?
I don't know of anything else, but you may want to make sure you have the latest .Net and Gostscript for the Windows you are using. and I would use Font Nav.
Thank you for your reply. The .NET version on my laptop is 4.5.1 which comes along with Windows 8.1 and I'm not sure about how to verify what Ghostscript is installed. But while installing X6, i did install the BitStream Font Navigator. Does that help?
Ghostscript is only used by CorelDraw when importing postscript or PDF files, so no need to worry about that one.
You could look at the settings in windows control panel > region and language to see if there are any settings there that might be incorrect, but I've only used English settings so can't help much with those.
The regional settings are all set to handle arabic. When I use the same fonts in Microsoft products, it works perfectly. It is only in CorelDraw that I'm facing the problem. I really need to fix this. Is there anyway to match the fonts engine of CorelDraw to that of the Microsoft products?
