Hello morten; Make the shapes that you want and duplicate as often as needed color the way you want.

What I'm looking for is a way to get the individual shapes, automatically and randomly into the finished pattern in a non symetrical way. Maybe by having 5 different shapes of each color and then the program duplicates, rotates and resizes the shapes into a pattern.
I have always wished Corel could do this kinda thing automatically, but I haven't ever figured out a way yet. But, luckily Inkscape has a nice arrange command that can give you this kinda (not so similar) result quite quickly.
I am actually going to beat Jeff to a post on a Macro that would get you close to this. Jeff has his SuperFill Macro at:

It will not do the random placement, but you could get a similar effect modifying a few shapes. Want to see random sizes or rotations supported. Email him and let him know.

Jeff has his SuperFill Macro.
That combined with the random macro offers lots of power, for less than 20.00 - for both.
