Hi,
I'd like to make part of the outline of a shape dotted. I need to split a shape in different parts, I think, to give the outlines of each part different properties.Like in this wedding card, parts of the heart and flowers are dotted so that part of the card is cut out.

Can someone tell me how to do this?
With kind regards,
Ricky
Hello RickyMai; You could draw your graphics in sections, and use Smart Fill to fill it.
George
Yes, as George mentioned, drawing in sections and Smart fill. The tougher part is learning how to Group or combine objects to "knockout" the dashed lines. I used Back minus Font after the object was set to no fill and dashed line was created.
Thanks!
I found another way. I used the knife to cut off a part of the shape and then blend a dotted line on the outline. The default outlines aren't suitable for laser cutting, the lines are to short and small (if you'd like them thicker).
