I work in a manufacturing environment and I have been using Corel Draw X6 to export designs for laser cutting. The issue is that when I export some DXF's or DWG's the line quality is bad. For instance I exported a line drawing of a plate to be lasered and all of the holes that I drew were warped looking and even had some flat sides. and the corners are mangled and rounded. I have tried exporting with every different option but it does not look any better. I dont remember having these problems with the older versions. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks -Shawn

could you provide a sample of the art in cdr? I'd like to test something. there may be a way to get the curves right.
Here is a link to the file.

I looked at DXFTools. Do you guys know the difference between standard and professional?
X6 (and X7) both seems to create good DXF files here, using the 2008-2013 preset.
If I re-import the DXF into CorelDraw, I see proper curves and circles. No flat sides. Only possible error I see is that the corners have a slight chamfer -- which might possibly be a limitation of the DXF format.
If you are seeing something substantially worse, it is possible that the program that is reading the DXF is causing the problem, but I don't have any way to test a DXF other than by importing it into CorelDraw.
Any software I have imported a Corel DXF file from for the purpose of manufacturing has created curve flats. DXFTool Professional was the only way to get that to stop. DXFTool Pro allows for Line, Polyline. Polyarcs, and tolerance adjustments.
I have found that when I export CorelDraw created DXF's it imports them back in perfectly. But when I view in any true cad software it gets all wanged out. Circles aren't circles and sometimes it creates points when there were none and it chamfers the corners in an uneven style. Sometimes it looks like parts are hand drawn. I used the trial of DXFtool Standard and it looked perfectly. Stinks that this is the only option. I use CorelDraw on several different computers and don't wanna buy several licenses. OH WELL!
I appreciate everyones insight and help on this matter!

TRY using this file. It imports back into Draw okay (watch for duplicate holes though). Import this DWG into your CAM program.
I looked at it and it still has a slight irregularity if you look real close at the tips of those "V" cutouts on the side. Also the laser guy got pissed when I sent him a DXF with segmented circles. He said it makes the laser nuts with the starting and stopping.
I really appreciate you giving that a go.
Can we recommend to Corel that they buy the DXFtool technology and add it to X8?
