  • If you have used spot colours to create the objects then you should only need to use file > print and then go to the colour tab and select print separations. You should then see a separations tab. Go there and check if you see exactly 5 separations. If you do not, then you have not used spot colours to create the design. If you do, then you should only need to print, with the separations option still selected.

You could also use C, M, Y, K and 1 spot colour -- but only if those are the 5 colours you want. You could not, for example, create an object with 100% cyan and 100% yellow and expect a green separation. You must use a green spot colour if that is what you want.

The problem will come if you have already created the design using CMYK mixes or using RGB. Neither can be separated (other than to C, M, Y and K). The best answer is to design from the outset using spot colours. You might be able to fix the design using one of the colour replacer macros -- oberon, gdg etc -- but make sure you choose a macro that will work in X6.

A problem you might have is if you have used tints of your 5 colours. Desktop printers typically default to a very fine halftone which is too high for screen printing and persuading them to accept Corel's screen values can sometimes be a problem.

You may also need to study overprint if you have objects that fit closely together.
