Guys, I created a simple report file with 26 pages and about 15 print quality images that I linked externally just to not increase the size of my CDR file.
This file, the fonts and the linked images was zipped and sended to some local offices of my client.
This offices open the CDR put some localized business information and send to print (in teory).
The problem is: All the offices is having the same external link images error showing the absolute path of my PC directory.
C:/windows/users/emvbase/desktop/clientfolder/links....
I tried to find some way to relink the images and create a step-by-step tutorial to send but I can´t find how to relink the images or change the folder where Corel search the images for this file. Is there any way to put this thing to work?
Use of external images has long needed some work by Corel to improve the functionality. It is no better in X7
Hmmm ... its not quite as I remembered. But try this ... In the docker, click on the existing filename. Wait for a while. If you are lucky, an edit box will pop up, with [...] at the end. Click on those dots and browse to the replacement filename. In windows explorer, double click on the replacement file. This seems to resolve the problem. But its still a nuisance and a totally pointless waste of time that you have to resolve each of the files individually, instead of just clicking a "use this folder to resolve other missing files" box, which is what you would do in any intelligently designed replacement picker.
Tks Harry, This second try was successful :-) - Windows, Dockers, Links and Bookmarks - Long click , after click on the 3 dots buttom at the end of the line with the broken path - Search for the correct file, import - Repeat all this process for each image with broken link. ( just writing as a step by step because someone else could find the answer more quickly next time) Tedious but work. I agree with you. In this world with high quality assets, Corel need to improve this "Links" module, it´s absolute important and there is no explaination how it work and is a boring and repetitive process. Tks a lot buddy you save the day!
