Hi everyone!I have a lot of AI vector graphics that I would like to work with in Corel Draw, but when the original file uses the AI function "Screen" it will show like the left dragon below in Corel Draw. Corel Draw doesn't seem to recognize that function and thus doesn't ignore the black. (Same for multiply, as the white areas show.)Is there any similar function in Corel Draw or another quick way to fix this (without having to redo every single gradient)?
Thanks in advance!
Ah, now I see what you mean. Well, I have an older version of AI, so Draw X6 IS newer. I doesn't work anyway.
I wouldn't mind fixing the graphics if it's not too intricate. That's why I would like to know if there's a similar tool in Draw as "Screen" in AI (or Photoshop). It's a pretty convenient blend tool.
Can I assume you're opening the AI file format?
Hi Karin
If it helps in feeling "meh" over that fact, transparencis created with let say CorelDRAW X8, X7 and backwards, are not entirely transferable either. When it comes to let say create something in Coreldraw X8 with transparency, and save to an older version, let sat CorelDRAW X4. it comes to colour management/color engine and Transparency and Fill, Corel have done really great work. It doesn't help you now, but they have.
It is much easier when you take a PSD file from Photoshop and open it in Photo-Paint. But again, if the photoshop file have certain filters, it might be issues. But generally Photo-Paint and Photoshop and Corel Painter is so much easier to open in each programs.
There has always been, and probably always will be, more issues when Transparency is involved in Illustrator and CorelDRAW. Its what it is
