Hi again, Lauren here!
I have this situation wherein I have to align boxes (with texts inside grouped together w/ the box) along a path within only the range of 0-180 degrees so that's kind of a semicircle.
But the boxes will not be distributed evenly in distance it depends on the degrees given where to put them so its just fine.
I am actually making a huge family tree and I align the boxes every generation through a path one generation after another to make it neatly distributed in a semicircle way.
Can you help me how to do this??
I planned to connect the boxes later after I have neatly placed all of the boxes in a semicircle way..the one I sampled is the not so good way but if someone could have a nicer idea please help. Thankyou!
Please see attached photo to relate more with the situation. Thankyou so much!
You might already be aware of this, but I point out that a lot of useful positioning can be done by using things such as these:
As an example, start with this. The box with text was positioned on the circle using object snaps:
Click on the selection a second time to active the rotate / skew handles, then drag the center of rotation to the center of the circle (again, object snaps):
Copy-while-rotating to make one copy at a different angle:
Select that new copy, then copy-while-rotating again to make a third one:
Ctrl-R several times to make additional copies with the same amount of rotation as the previous one:
