Hello People, just installed X7 and having a little problem with the Pantone colors. When copied and pasted a file or re-opening a file some colors are displayed in black while its actually an other Pantone color. Anyone??
Can you give an example of a specific pantone colour that demonstrates the problem? Are you sure these are actual pantone colours and not spot colours that you have created yourself? And what version of CorelDraw are the pantone colours coming from?
Note that there are several pantone libraries, so you need to be clear which library (pantone, pantone+ etc) you are using in each version.
I'm using Pantone solid coated colors, maybe this screenshot will help?
Small CDR files (up to 256Kb) can be uploaded on the options tab when you reply. CMYK files have a large colour profile which may take you over the limit, in which case save as... gives you the option to omit the colour profile.
great! I've attached a different file, but with the same problem and there's a jpg in it to compare
Even more curious -- I can create a new rectangle, and use edit > copy properties from and point to that "black" square and the new square is now orange.
Where did that colour originally come from? Is it a previous version CDR file? Do you still have that file?
It's a brand new file, created with the new X7 version, closed the file and later reopend the file and the problem was there.
I use the Pantone solid coated colors from the "previous version" folder as you can see in the first screencapture...
weird isn't it?
That palette is some 12 years old.....can I ask why you're using that one?
Instead, if you use Palette Libraries>Spot>Pantone>Pantone +> Solid Coated
....do the colors work ok from that palette?
T.
I'm just used to do so (since version 11), never had any problems with it.
Gonna try your advice first thing tomorrow!
Thank you!
Nope, no succes with the new color palette... never had this problem before...
Got it! it happens when I use the Document Palette to fill stuff, when I use the normal Pantone or HKS etc. palettes its OK!
Now I can sleep again...
Anyway, thanks for your input guys!
Hi There,
I have reviewed your supplied CDR without any luck of reproducing the issue manually.
Could you please walk me through the exact steps that you are able to recreate the issue starting with File> New. Having this information will help us to ensure we are looking at the same problem.
Regards
Dawn
Hi Dawn, I'm trying to recreate the issue, but now everything looks ok! the problem is that's not consistant. Gonna get back to you asap, when I know what steps I have to make to create the "problem"!
