Text with contour saving question

New to CorelDraw and im sure this is a very simple question for most but I cant figure it out.

I am trying to make a file to use on a plotter/cutter, If I start by making a word then go to "effect", "contour" and make a background for the text then go to "object", "break contour group apart", then I export, save as or publish to .pdf file I get the following when I open it in the cutter program to cut.

1. PDF  when I look at it as a thumbnail it looks great but if I open the file with the cutter program there is nothing there or its just the black text and not the red background.

Anyone that can tell me what i'm doing wrong?

  • Hello Larry B; What I Do is after getting the file the way I want it, using a outline the same color as the fill, I duplicate it then remove the fill and brake the file apart and convert to curves group it. And then export the out lined file to the cutting program as needed. I cut out of CorelDRAW so I don't have to export the files anymore. But I do save both drawings, the first incase I need to edit it and the other incase I need to cut it again.
