Greetings all.
Recently (last 1-2 days) CorelDraw x7 has been taking a lot longer than normal to copy/cut.
All other functions seem completely normal. Pasting seems almost instant.
I have tested on a new file with just a square, and it's the same delay (7-8 seconds) as when I copy a huge bit of artwork.
I've made no alterations to any settings, installed any new software or otherwise altered my system in the last few days, so I'm at a loss to explain it.
I have installed the latest update (Current version is 17.2.0.688).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
Hello Tom; Try cleaning out your "Temp" files. You haven't said anything about the system you are running but in Windows 7 it's done as the screen shot below by going to the Windows Start menu and typing in the Search box %temp%, then select the Temp dir., them select all files ( Ctrl+a ) and delete.
George
Thanks for your reply George, I had high hopes for this fix (27gb of temp files!).
I deleted the temp files, unfortunately it didn't make any difference at all :(
Sorry, I forgot to mention I'm using win7 64bit.
I'm still getting that same 7-8 seconds delay, doesn't seem to matter how large the thing I'm copying is.
Tom, Look at how many fonts you have installed in the Windows/Fonts dir. ( the less the faster Windows works.) What I have done is make a dir. on the hard drive ( called Fonts ) and moved all but the fonts that other programs have to have to have to it, and use Font Nav. that comes with Corel, You can drag and drop fonts that you want to use in it. I use NexusFont that is a Free program, It's no better than Than Font Nav. except for matching fonts that I need to do a job. I'm using Windows 7 also and think it's the best one out right know for getting work done, ( unless you have a touch screen.) Windows 7 doesn't do a good job with temp files I delete them every morning when I start the computer. I no longer leave the computer running over night anymore since I had a power supply blow up and set the drapes on fire.
